A Registrar-led wedding ceremony can only take place in a registry office or a licensed venue. A Celebrant-led wedding ceremony can take place anywhere you like, including your back garden, a village hall, on a beach, a field or the place where you first met, if that’s of significance to you.
The wording of a Registrar-led ceremony is standardised and follows legal requirements. A Celebrant offers personalised ceremonies tailored to your unique preferences, including your own vows.
A Registrar-led ceremony is an impersonal, time restricted event, a Celebrant on the other hand, will get to know your love story and create a bespoke ceremony filled with personal touches just for you.
A Registrar-led ceremony does not permit the inclusion of religious content in a civil marriage or civil partnership. A Celebrant-led wedding ceremony or civil partnership ceremony can happily include elements of religious or cultural content if you wish it.
